Good Old Days…They’ll always be good.

Good Old Days
verse 1:
It’s a cold winters night
and I’m driving home slow.
Man it’s been a long day,
it’s hard to let go.
At last, I’m home, my refuge,
where I’m treated like a king.
Here I make the rules, they follow
I’m the leader of this team.

Chorus:
Then I hear off in the distance
Billy’s sitting in my chair.
Will you make him get up daddy?
Tell him not to pull my hair.
Honey take the girls to dance class,
pick some milk up along the way.
As I grab my coat I wonder.
Will these be the good old days?

Bridge:
To you this may sound crazy
but I love this hectic life.
God blessed me with six children
and one fine, fine looking wife.
It’s our journey that we’ll treasure.
All the good times along the way.
That each of us remembers
when we think of the good old days

Verse 2:
Finally a lazy summer evening,
just the two of us unwind
in our bedroom with the moon light,
Frank Sinatra, and fine wine.
Couldn’t be a better moment.
Perfect way to end the day.
Holding you gently in my arms
we start to melt away.
Chorus:
Then I hear off in the distance
Billy’s sitting in my chair.
Will you make him get up Daddy?
Tell him not to pull my hair.
Mom, Sarah’s wearing my red sweater,
but she said I could, no way.
As I whisper to my lovely wife.
Will these be the good old days?

Verse 3:
I often sit and wonder
how the time just slipped away.
It was always there, just hiding
in the fast paced moments of each day.
You know, I figured I’d be sad now
looking back on the times we had.
Instead of “will you make him get up daddy”
It’s “tell me another story about dad…grand-dad”

Chorus:
The walls still echo in the distance
Billy’s sitting in my chair.
Will you make him get up daddy?
Tell him not to pull my hair.
Honey take the girls to dance class,
pick some milk up along the way.
As I smile and hug my grandchild, I think .
These are still the good old days.
