Life Begins When You Can’t Live Without It.

make-it-happen

If there’s something you really want from life…nothing…I mean nothing will keep you from having it.

Take a moment and think about the last time you wanted something so badly…you simply couldn’t live without it. I’ll bet a month’s pay you got it. Why? Because, making the decision that you literally can’t live without something quickly ignites the only catalyst needed to convert dreams to reality…a burning desire.

You see…what bridges the gap between you and what you want from life is not a list of how to’s…or a God given talent for that matter. It’s definitely not that imagined “perfect time to get started” which you keep dangling somewhere in the future like a carrot on a stick. It’s simply a burning desire.

I could show you every technique known to mankind on how to get something you want, but if you don’t burn for it…you’re spitting in the wind.

On the other hand…when you decide there’s no way you can live without something…you won’t need to learn any techniques to see you through. They will magically unfold before your eyes as they are needed and before you know it, you’ll begin to soar.

So…with that being said…understanding and creating this burning desire is the key to your happiness. That is, if you know what makes you happy. Well…do you?

The first step is…you gotta know what turns you on…what really, really turns you on. I believe most of us don’t have a clue. We just take whatever life throws our way. Sorry to say…if you’re happy with the scraps…get used to it, because that’s all you’re going to get. You can blame others as our politicians would love for you to do…but it won’t help.

Sadly, we easily get so wrapped up in our busy lives, before we know it…years quickly slither away. When did you last take the time to daydream…to fantasize on what you would love to do or have?

This is your chance. You don’t want to be sitting in a swing one day in the autumn of your life wondering…what if…I wish I’d…why didn’t I listen to old Bill, ha ha.

I challenge you to take the time today to rekindle your spirit…go ahead and let your mind wander just a little on what you would love to have or do. Without analyzing your thoughts, write down the first five or ten things that come to mind. This is where it all begins…but only…if you can’t live without it.

Next week we’ll have some fun with this list and burn a little desire…I have the fuel.

Another inspiring post! Well said. What I worry about is that I will be sitting on that swing at the autumn of my life asking myself “what if”. The physician I work with always reminds me of this. I get so involved with my work that she often has to remind me that it is time for a vacation. She constantly reminds me that I need to do what I want now before it’s too late; that I can’t take “it” with me. And now you say posted this. I guess God is trying to tell me something.

So I turned 44 yesterday and I have this paper I have to get done this week. We were invited to see the fireworks at the Galt House and let me tell you, i did NOT want to go because i felt so obligated to finish this paper. But because people (like you) keep reminding me about doing things now, etc., I decided I could not miss this opportunity to see the fireworks “in-person”….and let me tell you, I have no regrets. I had such a great time, didn’t think once about my paper, and the fireworks were so very beautiful. It reminds me of a butterfly though, it’s there one moment then gone, so you have to pay attention to every one of them because they are magnificent and beautiful, then GONE!

Thank you, so much, for reminding us about life!
