Perspective Changes Everything.

Perspective Changes Everything.

Feel like you’re stuck in life’s rut and just can’t shake it? Maybe you need to take a breath, back up and view it from a different perspective. Consider these five suggestions to get you back on track.

1  Wake up before the sun comes up to enjoy the morning.

The peacefulness of witnessing the daybreak can actually influence your entire day. Its affect slows your natural rhythm which can in itself invite a unique perspective.

2. Take a walk through a cemetery.
Notice the variety of lifespans as you’re reminded of your own mortality. That’s just the way it is…no one knows how much time they have left to spend with their loved ones. What we do know is we can refocus our priorities on what’s important for the here and now…the wonderful moment we live in.

3. Watch a river/creek flow.
Instant therapy, that money can’t buy, is delivered through the sound of a rolling river or a flowing creek. It has a unique power to hypnotize and dissipate anything that stands in the way in order to give clearance to a new perspective.

4. Write a bucket list.
If this doesn’t give new perspective, nothing will. It forces us to search our soul as we remove the cobwebs that have been smothering our dreams for too long. As we write the list, we rekindle the “law of attraction,” fueling our imaginations that we never outgrow. Let the new perspective begin.

5. Take a stroll down memory lane…literally.
If you can, go to a place you would frequent as a child and just hang out and soak up some memories for a while. If you’re too far away from your hometown try bringing out some old photos.
Let your thoughts run wild as you replay your childhood in your mind’s eye. Allow the moment to rekindle your sense of purpose and perspective. If you allow it…it will happen.

100 years to live? maybe.

There is nothing like watching the sun rise… you feel like you can take on the world! I am going to try that this week!

    Hi Bill,
I agree with Natalie, I love being up before sunrise in the twilight of dawn.

When I’m stressed, I also find lying down looking up at the sky and trees on a park bench helps me shift my perspective to one that is much more productive.

Adam, thanks so much for the comment. I agree, there is something special about the early morning that only experiencing it can convey.

So true…perspective is everything. You must have some type of mental telepathy. You send these blogs at a perfect time. Steve and I were talking last night during dinner about how things are going at work right now and how he spent the whole day yesterday thinking about where he is in life right now, how he got here, trying to get a better perspective of things so that we can make plans for the future…..then I open my e-mail and here it is in your blog. Amazing!
By the way, I love the song you attached in the end. Gonna download from iTunes!
