The Present Moment…Use It Or Lose It.

The Present moment is revealed as the mind is stilled and the soul is filled.

How do you wrap your mind around the meaning of “Living in the Present Moment”? Try using less of the old noggin’ and more of the soul.

I believe our lives are guided and driven by two main search engines, if you will, that couldn’t be any more contrasting… “The Mind” and “The Soul”.

Ironically, in the mind…where we often miss the present moment, mourning the ones we lost or fearing the ones that will never arrive…is the place we spend most of our time living. Sadly, all the negativity, fear, sadness and pain stirred by perpetuating this insanity is fueled by nothing more than an illusion.

On the other hand, when the soul is engaged, the moment is always present and there’s no question about it.

Case in point: There is nothing that moves the soul like experiencing “the first time” of doing, seeing, or feeling anything. The mind defers to the awe of the moment because it doesn’t know how to think about what it hasn’t experienced.

How many times have you tried to relive that “first time” only to be disappointed by the mind getting in the way of the present moment of the second time that could have been a unique, new “first time” as well.

We can’t work but with one of life’s search engines at a time and though there’s value to both …the challenge is to change its default.

Oh I need to live more in the present moment. Things are so busy, which is great, but I need to stop, take in and really LIVE in the moment. I feel like I am always rushing through the day, and then all of a sudden, I am back home getting ready for bed. I am going to really focus on taking it all in and truly BE in the moment.

Find the love for the moment you’re in and the time will stand still. I guess you’ll have to dance all the way to work. Miss ya…Don’t forget to check your oil. Ha.
