We all know people who have, for lack of a better term, that Midas touch. It not only seems that everything they touch turns to gold, but more impressively, everything they set out to do, no matter how challenging, they somehow find a way to make it happen. In other words, to these few… nothing is impossible.
What do you believe the magic is?
Is it talent? Maybe… but I know a ton of unhappy, unsuccessful, talented people. And come to think of it… I also know just as many highly successful folks who don’t possess an ounce of natural talent.
Could it be having a fabulous work ethic? It most certainly couldn’t hurt. But again, I know lots of individuals, and you probably do too, who show up every day, work their fingers to the bone, getting absolutely nowhere.
Maybe it’s just-dumb-luck. Yeah maybe… but if you’re hanging your hat on that one my friend… well, let’s just say… Mr. Midas Touch you’ll never be.
The truth is… far too many of us do just that. We invest more time in validating our failures than we do adjusting our approach. And this metaphorical fork in the road, as I like to call it, is where it all begins… or ends, depending on what you choose to believe.
You see… if you fall into the snares of believing that you don’t have what it takes to get what you want or need “because” of this or that… you better be very satisfied with what you have, for that’s where you have chosen to believe your road ends.
But, if you passionately believe you could have or do what you want…anything you want… “if” you try this, adjust that, refuse to take no for an answer… your journey will continue to unfold.
And as you systematically negotiate through each and every fork, twist, and turn as they come, confidence begins to replace doubt, joy overcomes fear, which in turn sparks momentum, which again in turn electrifies… you guessed it, more confidence… the perfect storm!
And within this whirlwind, you find yourself confidently walking the walk, talking the talk, thinking the thoughts, finding yourself in the right places… at the right time… with the right people, attracting everything you need at the exact moment you need it.
This is precisely how life flows to those who are actively moving forward, fully present and expecting to receive… it’s called “The Law of Attraction”. And it’s always in play, even when you least expect it.
You’re desperately trying to recall something you feel that’s vitally important… but it just won’t come to you. Then shortly after relaxing and letting go… there it is, as clear as a bell. Coincidental you say? Are you kidding me… not a chance.
You’re feeling alone with a new problem which you believe you’re the only one suffering from, only to find out after mentioning it to a friend, that half the people you know, not only have experienced the exact same situation, but have successfully moved through it. It’s a wonderful thing to attract peace of mind.
You buy a car you believe is unique in both make and color. Man oh man you think you are sitting on a one-of-a-kind. Then for the next several days what happens? Everywhere you turn, that car and color is all you see. Well, you say… it was always there, I just didn’t notice.
Think about that for a minute… you just didn’t notice. This is the whole point… the money shot if you will. And why didn’t you notice… because you didn’t think about it. And why didn’t you think about it… because you didn’t believe it was important enough to give it a second thought… therefore it just passed you by. It’s as simple as that.
The moment you deemed to believe it was important enough to contemplate, the attraction began, and the car appeared everywhere.
Everything is always right there in the same way… the answer to every question… the amount of money you want to earn… the perfect person you long to meet… the song you’d love to write… the health you want to live… the happiness you deserve… the God you want to follow. And yes… even your passion!
You just have to believe it’s important enough to find. Ever see the book, “Where’s Waldo”? He’s always there in plain sight, waiting patiently to be found. And who are the ones who find him?… the ones who believe they can. And more importantly, they find him because they refuse to give in until they do.
Funny thing about that Waldo game, after finding him the first time, it somehow starts to get easier to track him down on the following pages. It’s as if you are actually being attracted to where he’s hiding… well, well, well.
In fact, this Law of Attraction thing never sleeps… it’s kind of like breathing…. participation isn’t optional. Every thought, even your sub-conscience ones are drawn in by its magnetism. And through repetition of such thought, the attraction strengthens. Add belief and it awakens in full song.
In other words, the more you rethink the same thought, the stronger you will form a belief one way or the other. And the more time you give to that belief, the more you will attract yourself to it.
You don’t buy it? The media and manufacturers of products certainly believe you do. In fact, they invest billions whispering in your ear every single day exactly what they want you to believe.
And those continuous whispers are what we’re subconsciously attracted to… so simple, yet so true. My opinion is… come a little closer… do your own whispering… steer your own ship.
And it all begins in our God given minds.
The mind attracts thoughts… thoughts attract desire… desire attracts dreams… dreams attract emotion… emotion attracts action… action attracts belief. Well… here we are at belief… that metaphorical fork in the road which demands… direction. This direction thing is a biggie… it’s the meat of this post.
This direction you choose is determined by something far too many just don’t have… a belief in oneself. Please let that sink in… because without it, you’ll just be one of the herd.
Now… I’m not trying to insult anyone’s intelligence here with all this, but there was a time in my early years when my lack of confidence and self-esteem were absolutely suffocating me… and I remember waking up one morning praying for a breath of fresh air. I had had enough!
Okay… this goes to all of you young Bill Peaks out there… who have had enough! Take a deep breath… let your guard down, start believing in yourself… get an attitude… take this in, and don’t look back.
Okay then, let’s continue. Allow me to restate.
The mind attracts thoughts… thoughts attract desire… desire attracts dreams… dreams attract emotion… emotion attracts action… action attracts belief… belief demands and determines direction.
Direction attracts knowledge… knowledge attracts confidence… confidence attracts momentum… momentum attracts possibilities… possibilities attracts imagination… imagination attracts inspiration… and inspiration attracts anything and everything.
I submit that the only difference between you and Mr. & Miss Midas Touch is they have awakened themselves and exploited this unbelievable door opening, confidence building, dream achieving energy, which believing in “if” attracts to their world.
The reality you live in today was created by the culmination of everything you have believed up to this point. The good news is… that was yesterday. Today’s a new day.
I’m telling you… you can absolutely attract the reality in which you want to live… that is… if you choose to believe you can.
But really and truly, it’s not important what I believe. The real question is… What do you believe?
Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.
— Matthew 7:7
Think of the possibilities!

Well said, Bill! Your blog certainly has challenged me to dig a little deeper into my own thought processes.
For me, positive thinking and a positive attitude have served me well over the years. I refuse to let “stinking thinking” and negative thoughts invade my mind. I wasn’t always this way, but once I subscribed to this mind set, my life was changed forever. What do I believe? I believe in possibilities. I believe in a God who makes all things possible. He is the whisperer in my ear, “the lover of my soul, the giver of my life”. He fills me with his grace, and blesses me with his Holy Spirit. Whatever path I choose or choice I make, I know my God is right there by my side.
Thanks, Bill, for posting your thoughts. You have definitely awakened mine.
Louie, well said my man. Thanks for taking the time to post a comment. I love writing these things… makes me think. It often uncovers who I really am.

That’s been by motto here lately, is to follow your passion. If you look in my instagram page, I list my 3 passions. You’re so right about having just that certain confidence that you can do whatever it is you want to do. Take for example that blog that I’ve been trying to start. I can’t get past the first 2 entries…it’s just not there. My heart’s just not into it. I don’t think I’m a good enough writer to do it. So, it’s just not gonna happen. But I have discovered vlogging and am currently working on that. For that, I don’t have to sit and write out anything. I can just be myself on camera, talking about things I have some knowledge about.
Another funny thing is that now that I have decided and have created videos on a specific topic, I’ve discovered so many other youtubers talking about the same subject. Here I thought I was being unique with my choice of topic😂. Oh well.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are so insightful.
Sibyl, I hated English and creative writing back in school. I couldn’t put two words together that would be worth reading. But now I can just meditate on a subject and ideas just come out of nowhere… it crazy, but I like it. I’m waiting for the day when I can put musical notes together with my writing to create songs, but I’m afraid that’s an entirely different skill set. Ha ha… with that attitude it will never happen. As far as you vlogging goes… let me know when it happens, because I’ll bet you’re going to be good at it.
Bill
By the way… I love getting your comments. It’s nice to know that someone is reading my stuff. Thanks for taking the time.
